2422897 - Oracle 12c - KUP-04004 and KUP-04017 when running catsbp

Symptom

  • Error when running catsbp after Oracle 12c upgrade.
  • catsbp log file shows:

Overall Status: INCOMPLETE

  • qopatch_log.log shows messages similar to the following:

KUP-04004: error while reading file /oracle/<sid>/12102/QOpatch/qopiprep.bat

KUP-04017: OS message: Error 0

KUP-04017: OS message: /oracle/<sid>/.kshrc[22]: hostname:  not found.

/oracle/<sid>/.kshrc[25]: sed:  not found.

/oracle/<sid>/.kshrc[25]: uname:  not found.

/oracle/<sid>/.kshrc[25]: sed: 

KUP-04118: operation "pipe read", location "skudmir"

(The location of the .kshrc file depends on the $HOME of the Oracle software installation owner.)

  • It's possible to successfully run hostname, sed and uname from the command line.
  • QOpatch directory has correct permissions.
