2423191 - Cannot hide "Employee Status" under Job Information using role-based permissions

Symptom

Is it possible to hide the Employee Status field in the Job Information section of an employee's profile through role-based permissions?

Environment

  • SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central
  • SAP SuccessFactors HXM Suite

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Navigate to Admin Center.
  2. Search for Manage Permission Role tool.
  3. Click on a role.
  4. Click on the gray Permission button.
  5. Search for the Employee Status field.

Resolution

You can not permission or hide this field. Employee Status field does not require permissions to view/edit/delete, as per system design. A good rule of thumb is that, if you cannot see the field in BCUI or the data model, you cannot permission it.

Please note you also cannot hide this field via a business rule. No event type (onInit, onview..) will successfully hide this field in all UI's.
