2424047 - Instance configuration can not be retrieved

Symptom

The SAP system cannot be started. In a spoolfile of the SAPSTRSRV process, you can see the error

  • StartInstance: Starting instance <nn> of system <SID> on host hostname.xxx.yyy is not possible. Instance configuration can not be retrieved.

Where <SID> is the system ID of the SAP system and <nn> is the Instance number.
