Symptom

  • When trying to view a crystal reports file in BI Launchpad, the following error message displayed:

    The viewer could not process and event. The data source is invalid: 'Universe (xxx) does not exist or your security profile does not allow you to access it (IDT 23140)'. Please contact the maintainer of the data source to solve the problem. [JRC00005380] --- Error code: 0 [CRWEB00000119]

  • The universe and the report file was promoted from another system (eg. dev to prod or vice versa).
