Symptom

  • Running REORG REBUILD or UPDATE STATISICS
  • A connection gets terminated
  • ASE errorlog reports a signal 11 in the module mem__pageallocate_this_engine or mem_pageallocate together with a stack trace:

    Current process (0x1b230120) infected with signal 11 (SIGSEGV)
    Address 0x0x0000000001af7bc0 (mem__pageallocate_this_engine+0x100), siginfo (code, address) = (128, 0x(nil))

    Current process (0x1d3d02d0) infected with signal 11 (SIGSEGV)
    Address 0x0x0000000000e3a075 (mem_pageallocate+0xd5), siginfo (code, address) = (1, 0x0x00000000110a140e) 
  • The stack trace includes some or all of the following :

    mem_getpages

    ups__updstats_column
    update_statistics
