Symptom
Workforce Analytics queries (Query Workspace, Report Designer) do not give the option to customise the sorting of categories.
Environment
SAP SuccessFactors Workforce Analytics (WFA)
Resolution
You can place categories deliberately out of their default order by using multiple adjacent queries in a composite query.
Say you want to order some letters (or categories starting with the same letters) thus:
A, F, R, M, T, V, G, J
Create the query as normal inside a composite query. Now note that the sequence contains three alphabetically ordered subsets:
AFR - MTV - GJ
Copy the composite query cell and paste it twice, into the next two cells on the right. Delete all but A, F and R from the original, M, T and V from the second and G and J from the third. The result will look like a single query in the desired order.
Composite queries can order columns and rows any way you like if what should come after is either below or to the right of what should come before.
