You have requirment to merge two Individual Customer using Data Cleaninsing work center is creating duplicate Address entries in the Surviving Record
Reproducing the Issue
1. Go to Data Cleansing work center
2. Select New Merge
3. Add First Individual Customer and Second Individual Customer
The cause for this is that you have chosen the address of the duplicate business partner in the element selection screen.
Elements in the attribute selection screen should be chosen if you want the data of the chosen elements to replace the existing data in the master business partner. In this case two actions are taking place:
1. Since you have chosen the address of the duplicate business partner, the Main address of the master Business Partner gets this address.
2. After this is done the regular merge of address happens where the address of the duplicate Business Partner is copied to the master Business Partner.
If you want to retain the original address of the master Business Partner then don’t select the Address element and Initiate Merge
In this case step 1 will be skipped for address and step 2 will copy the address of the duplicate to the master.
