Symptom
When we try to upload contents into the iContent server via the browser login, we are receiving the following error message: "Failed to upload 'file' due to a hung Ajax request. Using a different browser should resolve the problem."
Environment
SuccessFactors iContent
Reproducing the Issue
Directly uploading contents into the SuccessFactors LMS iContent
Cause
This is happening because of big file size.
There are session timeouts in all the servers as we cannot keep any connections open for a long time due to security concerns to protect the customer data. The web portal to the iContent account is provided only to view the contents and host contents that are lesser in size and not any huge content (>10 MB, as there are many parameters involved like speed, resource availability like RAM utilized, concurrent connection via the browsers) and for that we always recommend the customers/admins to use the Deployment Location(DL) or FTP clients like “Filezilla” or “WinSCP” as with these methods the upload happens through different mediums (DL – background job in the server and in the FTP Client – a separate application can dedicatedly do the upload unlike the browsers where everything is shared and the connections are limited ).
Resolution
This might work at times in the same or different browser with bigger contents when the connectivity is really fast and when the situations in the local system is all good and hence is not a recommend option. We recommend you to use the Deployment Method (KBA-2416189) or FTP clients like FileZilla, WinSCP to upload contents.
