2428352 - "Failed to decrypt password" message happened in agent.log - SAP ASE

Symptom

  • The agent.log shows that there is a problem accessing to ASE server.

       com.sybase.ase - Connecting to server using URL:jdbc:sybase:Tds:localhost:5000
       com.sybase.ase - Unable to connect using default characterset.  Attempting connection with iso_1

  • The agent.log also shows that there is a problem decrypting a password. 

       [ERROR] [ase.ASEConnections] [Agent Bootstrap Thread] - com.sybase.ase - Failed to decrypt password.
       com.sybase.security.SecException: java.io.IOException: Invalid base64 data

  • The password that is generated by passencrypt utility with '-csi' option is in the agent-plugin.xml.
