Symptom

- Go to Action Search bar at the top of your homepage and enter the name of the employee that shared their note. This opens up their People Profile.
- Go to the "Notes" Tab.
- The note that was shared with this employee is not visible from their People Profile.
Example:
- As user A navigate to Employee Files->Public Profile->Notes and create a new note. Share it with another user B.
- Login (or proxy) as user B and navigate to Employee Files->Public Profile->Notes. The note created in Step1 is not visible.
Resolution
The same resolution applies for People Profile 3
You need to verify that the person creating the Note belongs to a permission group than can do the following:
- View Notes
- Create Notes
- Edit/Insert:Correct:Delete
You can check to ensure that these are checked in Manage Permission Roles:
- Go to Admin Center --> Manage Permission Roles
- Select the Permission Role you want to verify that opens up the Permission Role Detail Page
- Select Permission --> User Permissions --> Gerneral User Permissions
- Verify that Permission to Create Notes is checked.
- After making changes, select 'Done". This directs you back to the Permission Role Detail page.
- Select "Save Changes" to finish.
If the User does not have the "Permission to Create Notes", this means that this user doesn't belong to a permission group with access. This can be resolved by adding user to the permission group that has the ability to create notes using Role-based permissions.
For more information about Role-based permissions, please refer to the Role-Based Permissions Administration Guide:
