2430694 - SWPM Error: "Assertion failed: Unable to update secure storage files"

Symptom

  • While performing an install or migration, the Software Provisioning Manager (SWPM) fails
  • The following error message can be found in the sapinst_dev.log:

WARNING <date> <time>
Execution of the command "rsecssfx put DB_CONNECT/DEFAULT_DB_PASSWORD -valuefile valuefile.txt -valuefile7bit" finished with return code 249. Output:
SSFX-0348: Value file "valuefile.txt" cannot be opened for read:
Permission denied (errno = 13)

ERROR <date> <time>
Assertion failed: Unable to update secure storage files. Refer to trace file sapinst_dev.log for further information.
