2432261 - Admin logged out of LMS after opening Direct Link in a new tab

Symptom

When an admin tests a Direct Link by opening it in a new tab within the same browser, the Direct Link functions correctly. However, returning to the initial tab causes the session to end.

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors Learning

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Log into the system > 
  2. Go to Learning Administration >System Administration > System Management Tools > Generate Direct Link >
  3. Generate a URL Direct Link >
  4. Copy the Direct Link URL into a new tab within the same browser >
  5. After returning to the initial tab, notice that the session has logged out.

Cause

A Direct Link opened in the second tab is treated as a new session, causing the first session to end automatically.

Resolution

This is the current system design. As a workaround, a Direct Link URL can be tested in a separate browser from the one the admin is currently logged into. This will preserve the sessions.
