2432504 - Conditional Field/Associations not Working in Nested Associations

Symptom

  • Conditional Field/Associations are not working for nested associations (including one to many & one to one child object, second child object or further, of a parent object definition).
  • Workflow not appearing for child of child objects
  • Child of child fields are not visible during approval

Environment

 SAP SuccessFactors HXM Suite

Reproducing the Issue

  • When creating a second record for the association, with satisfied conditions, the conditional fields are not being shown.
  • Although the fields may appear in Manage Data and in People Profile, when the approver views the workflow, the condition is not respected, and the approver cannot see the data of the child
  • conditional fields set in Child object level do not appear in MDF portlet.

Resolution

This is currently a known Limitation of the system, as confirmed by engineering in both CRF-7836 and UI-8400.

There is currently no plan to support this limitation.

More details about the limitations:

  • Hide/show fields based on conditional fields does not for any of the composite child.
  • Hiding showing fields on composite child based on field on Parent object is not supported.
  • Manage Configuration UI tool can be used to hide and how the field on composite assocaition, customer can create UI rule to realize hide/show fields, however please be aware of those does not apply for OData/Import ect.
