2433770 - Error when opening the Value Help of a HANA view's variable in AO

Symptom

One of the following errors are occurring in Analysis for Office:

  • 42522 - No values set for mandatory variable : <XYZ>
  • 42471 - The variable can't be read : <XYZ>
  • Error while fetching members of characteristic <XYZ>

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Execute HANA view in Analysis for Office;
  2. Open the Value Help of a variable;
  3. Confirm one of the errors mentioned in this document.

Cause

The issue might occur because the parameter mapping of the Value Help used in the HANA view is missing.

Resolution

Enhance the calculation view and provide information about the parameter mapping for the value help.

Check if a variable mapping for the affected variable exists for the external variable view. See example below:
