Symptom

  • ASE server has a single ASE engine thread configured.
  • During periods of highly concurrent DML activity you find large-scale blocking on the ASE
  • The blocked spids are executing COMMIT TRANSACTION
  • The blocking spid's stack references the function, plcblock__flush()
