2435984 - Changing Global Assignment Start Date

Symptom

When a Global Assignment (GA) is created, it is given a start date / hire date, which applies to its records (e.g. Job Information 'Start Global Assignment' record, Compensation Information record). If that start date is changed, records such as the GA's Compensation Information record do not get updated, even if they had records on the GA's original hire date / start date.

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Add Global Assignment to an employee;
  2. Go to Take Action > Manage Global Assignment Details;
  3. Change the Start Date and Save;
  4. Check Compensation Information and see that the effective start date was not updated.

Cause

This is the expected behavior of the system.

Resolution

Changing the Global Assignment start date only changes the Global Assignment-related records on the employee's Home and Host profiles.

There will be no update or change to other portlets such as Compensation Information or Personal Information.
