2438177 - ERROR #13045 and ORA-00257 when starting connection to Oracle - SRS

Symptom

The SAP Replication Server (SRS) recieves the following error messages when restarting the connection to Oracle:

  • Message from server: Message: 257, State 0, Severity 5 -- '[ connection ][ Oracle ] OCISessionBegin ORA-00257: archiver error. Connect internal only, until freed'.
  • ERROR #13045 DSI(154 DS.DB) - /generic/useful/cm.c(5053)
            Failed to connect to server 'DS' as user 'user'. See CT-Lib and/or server error messages for more information.
  • The DSI thread for database 'DS.DB' is shutdown.
