  • After accesing the upgraded portal a portal runtime exceptions, like the one below is shown:                                                                                                                                    

     !  Portal runtime error
        An exception occured while processing your request. Send the exception ID to your portal administrator.
        Exception ID HH:mm_DD/MM/YY_ServerNodeID
        See log file for details
  • Upon checking the Default_Trace file for the exception id, the following stack trace is found:
    com.sapportals.portal.prt.runtime.PortalRuntimeException: There is no portal component associated with the following context: pcd:portal_content/<PATH_TO_AFFECTED_CONTENT/<AFFECTED_CONTENT>
     at com.sapportals.portal.pb.PageBuilder.createIviewProfile(
     at com.sapportals.portal.pb.PageBuilder.createiView(
     at com.sapportals.portal.pb.PageBuilder.createAndAddiViews(
     at com.sapportals.portal.pb.PageBuilder.doOnNodeReady(
  • The portal was upgraded from a NW 7.0X to a 7.XX. For example, NW 7.01 to NW 7.50.



  • SAP NW Enterprise Portal;
  • ESS / MSS (Empoyee Self Service / Manager Serf Service) portal add-ons.
