2438969 - Selecting units in custom sets & members without child units

Symptom

How can a custom member or set include a unit in a dimension but not the units underneath it?

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors Workforce Analytics - Query Workspace

Resolution

An org unit selected in a custom set or member includes everything in the org units underneath it.  There is no option to keep this from happening, so the way to retrieve only the employees in the grouping unit is to subtract the employees underneath.

Make a custom member/set that contains only the top unit and another which includes every unit beneath it in the structure but NOT the top unit.  Subtract the latter from the former in a custom calculation or using a composite query, and at least in the case of a base measure like EOP Headcount the difference will be the total for the single unit.  In the case of calculated measures like termination rates, more complex calculations may be required.
