2439521 - How to configure Goal Plan hyperlinks to open in a new window or open a new email (Outlook) - Goal Management

• We would like to have a new window open when employees click on the hyperlink in the Goal Plan instructions instead in the same window.
• Open email using hyperlink

SAP SuccessFactors Goal Management

1. Login as employee
2. Go to Goals or Objectives from Home dropdown
3. Click on hyperlink in Goal Introduction / Instructions
4. URL opens in same window

To open hyperlinks in the goal plan instructions, this will required a configuration change Goal Plan XML. The attribute target="_blank" has to be inserted in the URL. Please refer to the example text below.

Example text:  Insert <a href="https://www.website.com" target="_blank">hyperlink</a>.

Note: in order to make changes in the XML, please contact your Implementation Partner. If you don't have a Partner, you can find for SAP Certified Partners via the SAP Partner Finder or, alternatively, speak with your Account Executive or Customer Engagement Executive about Professional Services options.

The following workarounds are also available if you wish to make the changes using Admin Center.

For Customers:

You can use Performance form Template to create a link that opens in a window and opens a new email window.

To Create a link to open to a new window using the Performance template.

1. Go to Admin Center > Performance Management > Manage Templates.
2. Select any template then go to any Section (not in the General Settings).
3. In the Description field, put the text that you want to appear, highlight it then click the "link" icon
4. Select Link Type URL and enter the URL.
   
   
   
   
5. Click on the Target Tab. Click on the dropdown and select "New Window (_blank)". Click OK.
   
   
   
   
6. Copy the created text/link and paste it to your Goal Plan description.

To open a new email window (outlook only) from the link.

1. Go to Admin Center > Performance Management > Manage Templates.
2. Select any template then go to any Section (not in the General Settings).
3. In the Description field, put the text that you want to appear, highlight it then click the "link" icon
4. Select Link Type E-mail and enter the email details.
   
   
   
   
5. Click OK then Copy the created text/link and paste it to your Goal Plan description.
