2439856 - Country Code is being added to the Phone Number while Using Groupware Add-in in Outlook 2010

Symptom

You see that the country code is being added to the phone number again and over without user knowledge

Example : If the phone number is +90 (751) 5079 , it is shown as  +90 (90 )751 5079

Cause

We see that for Outlook 2010, if phone number doesn't have '(' ')' around area code and user doesn't set location on Windows Phone and Modem, Outlook is not able to identify the country code and area code. It will delete '+' when saving phone number as well.

Resolution

So for user with outlook 2010, there are two possible solutions.

  1. Add '(' ')' around all the area code in C4C , eg +90 751 5079  -> +90 (751) 5079
  2. User need set up location at Dialing Rules of Phone and Modem in Windows
