2440160 - Error: HTTP 403 when launching SUM 19 via the URL

Symptom

  • You are using Software Update Manager (SUM)  1.0 SP 19
  • When you try to access SUM GUI via the ABAP URL generated by the Host Agent, you recieve HTTP 403 error
  • In the sapstartsrv.log you see these errors:

HTTPHandlerManager : HTTP Handler found for /lmsl/sumabap//doc/sluigui 
 *** ERROR => soap_check_permission authentication: ( , ExecutOperation ) FAILED [DefaultOpera 163]

And

HTTPHandlerManager : HTTP Handler found for /lmsl/sumabap/APP/doc/index.html 
*** ERROR => SLPProxyHandlerFactory::ConnectContext called but ctx->operationID is NULL [SLPProxyHand 502]
*** ERROR => Error: sock 26; error 2 (No such file or directory)
 (2: No such file or directory) [sixx.cpp 125]
*** ERROR => Connection failed [Communicatio 206]

or 

Internal Server Error
Operation  [id=9EFE61FE1EA51EE6BE8232525317D603] terminated with errors : 127 ()

FATAL ERROR: Cannot determine SAP SID
HTTP server exits with 10.
