Symptom

  • When ASE is configured with:
    • 'statement cache' on
    • 'streamlined dynamic SQL' on
    • 'compatibility mode' on
  • A query executing a cursor fails, breaks the connection and returns this message to the client :
CT-LIBRARY error:
      ct_results(): protocol specific layer: internal Client Library error: There is a tds state machine error. An illegal tds token sequence was received.
