Symptom

  • SAP ABAP Short dump receives SAP Adaptive Server Enterprise (ASE) errors:
    [ASE Error SQL14126][SAP][ASE ODBC Driver][Adaptive Server Enterprise]Couldn't find an available partition
    (14126) [ZZZZZ] [SAP][ASE ODBC Driver][Adaptive Server Enterprise]Couldn't find an available partition descriptor. Raise the value of the   configuration parameter 'number of open partitions' for more partition descriptors.
  • ASE errorlog messages:
    server  Increase the config parameter 'number of open partitions' to avoid descriptor reuse. Reuse may result in performance degradation.
