You can't find the fine tuning activity to maintain number range for Registered Products
Reproducing the Issue
- Go to Business Configuration and select Overview tab
- Search for *number range*
- There is no activity activity for Registered Products
Resolution
The number range for registered products is "automatically" scoped in when Registered Product is scoped in Business Configuration. Path is Service->Entitlement Management->Registered Products and Installed Base.
There is no specific activity to maintain it. It is a text field which can be maintained with alphanumeric values. It is possible to load equipments from ERP having alphanumeric number range.
When replicating equipments from ERP, the Equipment ID is stored in the External ID of the registered product and the internal ID is generated automatically via internal number range. Serial IDs are replicated as it is stored in the equipment.
