Why do report and measure pages in Online Report Designer and Workforce Analytics have export buttons at the top for Word, PowerPoint and PDF formats, but not Excel?
Environment
SAP SuccessFactors - Online Report Designer (ORD), Workforce Analytics (WFA)
Cause
Reports can contain all kinds of graphical elements and not all of them translate to Excel, so it isn't possible to export an entire page to it.
Resolution
Instead, each table component has its own Excel export button in its top corner so that Excel only receives spreadsheet-ready data. (CSV is also an option.) This will not be apparent when viewing a page with no components. The Excel buttons also do not appear in the exported version of a report page.
