2442938 - It is Not Possible to Add an Employee as a Recipient in a Workflow Rule

Symptom

When creating a workflow rule and trying to add an employee as a recipient, not every employee is listed to be added.

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to the Administrator work center.
  2. Select the Workflow Rule view.
  3. Open Workflow Rule XYZ (XZY represents the name of the workflow rule).
  4. Select the Edit button.
  5. Select the Next button until you reach Step 3: Define Actions.
  6. Select the hyperlink Add Employee.
  7. Select the Value Selection and search for Employee ABC (ABC represents the User ID).

The system does not display the Employee in the search results.

Cause

The system does not give the option to add the employee as a recipient because the User is still inactive.

Resolution

  1. Go to the Administrator work center.
  2. Select the Business Users view.
  3. Select User ABC.
  4. Select the Edit button and choose the option Attributes.
  5. The following two notifications are displayed:

    The user ABC is inactive and the validity dates are proposed values that you can change. To activate the user, click Save,

    The user ABC is inactive and the default security policy is assigned as a proposal. To activate the user, click Save.

  6. Select the Save button.

Once this is done, it is possible to add the employee as a recipient in the workflow rule.
