Symptom
- SAP Identity Management objects (tasks, jobs, scripts, attributes, entry types etc.) containing some characters in foreign languages have become corrupted after time.
- In IDM Developer Studio, updating an attribute’s description to include a foreign-language character can produce the error "Update of Attribute failed" and a NullPointerException in the Eclipse log.
- Example: In IDM Developer Studio, saving a Form will result in the error "Update of Process failed" and a NullPointerException recorded in the Eclipse log.
- The SAP Netweaver AS Java default traces may show the error:
An exception of type 'WstxIOException' occurred.
[EXCEPTION]
org.apache.olingo.odata2.api.ep.EntityProviderException: An exception of type 'WstxIOException' occurred.
