Symptom

  • Error occurs when create local relational connection in Information Design Tool when database middleware is not installed or configured in local machine
    • Native Client:  DBDriver failed to load : <driver dll path> (The specified module could not be found.
      Example for Oracle: DBDriver failed to load : C:\Program Files (x86)\SAP BusinessObjects\SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 4.0\dataAccess\connectionServer\drivers\lib32\dbd_ctlib16.dll (The specified module could not be found.
    • JDBC:  <JDBC Driver path>
      Example for MS SQL Server:  com.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.SQLServerDriver
    • ODBC:  [Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Data source name not found and no default driver specified.
  • Besides installing database middleware in local machine, is it possible to create relational connection and then universe by leveraging server-side connectivity?
