2444548 - "freight order is linked to a schedule" error in SAP Transportation Management

Symptom

  • SAP Transportation Management (SAP TM) assigning a Vehicle or other Resource or a Transportation Unit (TU) to a Freight Order (FO) with Stage planned to a Schedule returns one of the following errors:
      
    Resource cannot be assigned; freight order is linked to a schedule (/SCMTMS/PLN_VSR_OL327)
    Trailer unit <unit name> cannot be assigned; freight order is linked to a schedule (/SCMTMS/PLN_VSR_OL338)
    Railcar unit <unit name> cannot be assigned; freight order is linked to a schedule (/SCMTMS/PLN_VSR_OL339)
     
  • Why does SAP TM prohibit assigning a Resource or Transportation Unit to a Freight Order with Stage assigned to a schedule?
