2445851 - Error: 16143 occurs on Job Scheduler when password length is 7 or higher - SAP ASE

Symptom

  • Error 16143 is reported when sp_passwordpolicy sets the 'minimum password length' more than the value of sp_configure 'minimum password length'
  • Job Scheduler fails to start:

server  Error: 16143, Severity: 16, State: 1
server  The password length supplied with the password_random builtin does not satisfy the global 'minimum password length'.
kernel  Job Scheduler: Failed to create jstask password. Start job scheduler manually with sybmgmtdb..sp_sjobcontrol.
