2445899 - Kernel resource memory error when upgrade to ASE 16

Symptom

  • Upgrade ASE 15.7 SP136 to ASE 16 SP02 PL04 failed.
  • The following messages can be found in the ASE errorlog:

    The configured value '4820' for parameter 'kernel resource memory' is too low. It should be at least '7604' for the present configuration.
    'kernel resource memory' has been modified from '4820' to '7604' by the verification routine.
    The current 'max memory' value '11386389' is less than the 'total logical memory' value '11389173'. ASE has increased the value of configuration parameter 'max memory' to '11389173' to enable upgrade.
    Failled to allocate memory for embedded monitor counters.  Consider increasing 'kernel resource memory'
    Kernel resource memory pool has been exhausted. Try increasing the value of 'kernel resource memory'.
