Symptom
- Using ./stopservers or ./startservers, CCM (Central Configuration Manager) or the CMC (Central Management Console) to stop / start the servers has no effect, the servers and still running and show no sign of stopping other than the 'stopping' state in CMC
- E2E trace of stopping a server in the CMC stops at the following line:
cms_EXAMPLECMS.CentralManagementServer|RegisterAuditee: <EXAMPLECMS>.APS.Core, <EXAMPLECMS>, IOR:<IORVALUEHERE> - Depending on which CMS a user has a session with in a clustered environment - different session numbers can be seen in CMC -> Sessions
- Auditing thread utilization is at 100% seen in CMC -> Auditing
- No data being inserted into the Auditing database, CMS trace from startup reveals it hangs at the following query:
DELETE FROM ADS_EVENT_DETAIL WHERE Event_ID IN (SELECT Event_ID FROM ADS_EVENT WHERE Start_Time < DATE '1917-03-17' AND Cluster_ID = 'Fm10.lWxiggATR8AAGAXrZMAAFBWsHv0') - With two user sessions being open on different CMSs (CMS 1 and CMS 2) in the cluster (verified in CMC -> Sessions):
Changing a folder name in a CMS 1 session results in no change seen in the CMS 2 session.
Changing a folder name in a CMS 2 session results in the change being seen in CMS 1 session.
Same behaviour can be seen for changing any folder name or any property (eg. trace level on a server)
E2E trace of the above reveals the following:
Changing a folder name in a CMS 1 session results in no change seen in the CMS 2 session.
cms_<CMS1>.CentralManagementServer|Remote server(<CMS2>:6400) has something to notify!
cms_<CMS1>.CentralManagementServer|[UID=0;USID=0;ID=2872561 ] Remote server(<CMS2>:6400) has notified 2872561
Changing a folder name in a CMS 2 session results in the change being seen in CMS 1 session.
cms_<CMS2>.CentralManagementServer|Remote server(<CMS1>:6400) has something to notify!
cms_<CMS2>.CentralManagementServer|[UID=0;USID=0;ID=2872561 ] Remote server(<CMS1>:6400) has notified 2872561
