Symptom
In Business Configuration under Activities → Involved Parties for Appointments, a party (e.g., Account) is maintained as Unique. When a second account is added to the same appointment, the system displays the error message:
"Please use not more than 1 party(ies) of role Account"
However, the system still allows the appointment to be saved despite the error.
Environment
SAP Cloud for Customer Core Applications
Reproducing the Issue
- Navigate to the Activities work center.
- Go to the Appointments view.
- Open an appointment (e.g., Appointment 123).
- Go to the Involved Parties facet.
- Click Add.
- Set the Role as Account.
- Add an account (e.g., Account XYZ) as an involved party.
- Observe the error message: “Please use not more than 1 party(ies) of role Account”.
- Click Save.
- Note that the system allows saving the changes even though the error message is displayed.
Cause
The system displays an error message for violating the Unique Party rule but does not prevent saving the appointment.
This behavior is intentional in C4C, as preventing save could disrupt the user workflow for many customers, even when such errors occur.
Resolution
This is the intended behavior of the system.
Note: This behavior applies to all business objects, including Tickets, Opportunities, and others.
