It is required to replace the system of an existing Analysis Office workbook.

SAP Analysis for Microsoft Office

Using the functionality "Replace System" in Analysis for Office, it is possible to replace one or multiple systems in an existing workbook. The "Replace System" button to open the dialog is enabled if a workbook with a data source is opened but not connected to any of the systems.

** Notice that, there is no planned changes for mass replacement in Analysis for Office workbooks.

For BW and HANA systems, it is possible to replace local connections and connections from the BI platform. If a workbook contains BW and HANA connections, you will find two tabs in the dialog: BW and HANA.

You can also open the dialog for replacing systems with the context menu on workbook level in the design panel.

Step-by-step:

1. Open the existing Analysis Office workbook;
   
   
2. Go to File > Analysis > Customize Analysis > Options;
   
   
3. Select tab "Platform";
   
   
4. Click on "Replace System" button;
   
   
   
   If the button is disabled, refer to SAP KBA 2211687.
   
   
5. Replace the systems accordingly;
   
   
1. AO 2.8 SP16 or higher versions:
   Refer to What's New in Analysis 2.8 SP16 and the blog post System Replacement – Analysis for Microsoft Office.
   
   
2. AO 2.8 SP15 or lower versions:
   In the dialog, select the system that should be replaced (Current System) and the system that should replace the former system (Replace By System).
   To list the BIP connections in the Replace By System section, select the Logon to BIP icon and log on to the BI platform first.
   Note: the OLAP connections from the BIP will appear under the list of the local connections at the bottom.
    
   
   
   
   
6. Save the workbook.
