2449481 - Right to Return Position Overstaffed on 'Leave of Absence'

Symptom

When an incumbent is assigned to a Position which has a Right to Return on Leave on Absence, on the Right to Return employee being assigned back to the position, the position is overstaffed.

Environment

  • SuccessFactors Employee Central: Position Management
  • SuccessFactors Employee Central: Right to Return

Reproducing the Issue

Position Configuration:

  • Position Type = Regular Position
  • Position Controlled = Yes
  • Allow multiple incumbents = No
  • FTE = 1

Position Management Settings:

  • Use transition Period = No
  • Stable Headcount Area for Position Control Mode = FTE

Scenario:

  1. Employee 1 is on Leave of Absence (LOA) = 01/01/2025 and left position with Right to Return
  2. Employee 2 is hired to the position on 01/10/2025
  3. Employee 1 returns to work 02/01/2025

When Employee 1 Returns to Work/ Back from Leave of Absence effective 02/01/2025, the position is overstaffed 2/1 FTE.

Cause

Expected Behavior.

Resolution

  1. If an employee is assigned back to the position for which a Right to Return exists, there is no automatic check to ensure the position won't be overstaffed by people or FTE for Leave of Absence
  2. Work-around is to check this manually and do correction.
  3. If you would like to change current standard system behavior, submit an enhancement request (refer to the Note in See also).
