2450736 - "Position Title" does not appear in succession domain's Youcalc Tile and Ad Hoc Report

Symptom

  • "Position Title" does not appear in standard Youcalc Tile "Most Nominated Successor (MDF non EC)" 
  • Ad Hoc Report of "Succession (MDF Position based nominations)" domain is not fetching Position Title 
  • Ad Hoc Report of "Succession By MDF Position (Inclusive, for Succession only)" domain is not fetching Position Title
  • Unable to fetch MDF Position Title in Ad Hoc Report

Environment

  • Ad Hoc Report of "Succession (MDF Position based nominations)" and "Succession By MDF Position (Inclusive, for Succession only)"
  • Dashboard 2.0
  • Youcalc Tile - Standard Youcalc Tiles of Succession Domain 

Reproducing the Issue

Ad Hoc Report:

  1. Create new Ad Hoc Report of "Succession By MDF Position (Inclusive, for Succession only)"
  2. Select Position ID and Position Title from Position Information table
  3. Generate
  4. Position Title column appears blank

Youcalc Tile:

  1. Download standard Youcalc tile - "Most Nominated Successor (MDF non EC)" from Success store 
  2. Edit > Drill Down > Add Position Title column from Position Information table > Save
  3. Make the tile available at Home Page
  4. Execute the tile
  5. No data presnt in Position Tile column

Cause

User's Default Language is English UK.

Users Default Language - English UK.png

Default Language of the Instance is English UK.

What is the difference between this 2 domains:

  • "Succession (MDF Position based nominations)" - Ad Hoc Report of this domain will fetch only those positions or incumbents who has successors.
  • "Succession By MDF Position (Inclusive, for Succession only)" domain - Ad Hoc Report of this domain will fetch all positions or incumbents even though if they do not have successors.
  1. Take a sample Position ID
  2. Go To Admin Center > Manage Position > Selcet Position from Drop Down > Search for the Position Code
  3. Click on the "Translate" icon beside the Position Title field
  4. Check in which Language Position Code appears

Go To Admin Tools > "Import and Export Data" > Select "Export Data" > Select Following parameter while exporting data:

  • Select Generic Object : Position
  • Include Dependencies : No
  • Include Immutable IDs : No
  • Select All Data Records : Yes
  • Now Click On Export button.

  • Go Back To Admin Tools > Monitor Job > Download the Exported data

  • Open the CSV file
  • In CSV file look into "externalName.en_GB". This column does not have value for all position IDs.

This is why Position Title does not come in Ad Hoc Report.
Whatever the default language is set, according to that values of "Position Title" must be available in respected language column in MDF Position Export file.

Resolution

Fill the Position Titles in "externalName.en_GB" column and Re-import the MDF Position CSV file.
NOTE- Be very careful while performing any "MDF position Import". If you need any clarification on this please create a new ticket Succession Team.
