2452202 - SCM Optimizer Installation Error: SAPCAR: the option -i has no effect when working with old archives.

Symptom

SCM Optimizer Installation failed using Software Provisioning Manager (SAP Note #1680045) in the dialog phase for "Installation Archive" . The following error can be found in sapinst_dev.log in sapinst_instdir:

The step ExtractSAPCARArchive with step key |APOOptimizer|ind|ind|ind|ind|0|0|ExtractSAPCARArchive was executed with status ERROR ( Last error reported by the step: Execution of the command "/tmp/sapinst_exe.###.#####/SAPCAR -x -v -i -R /<media path>/ -f /<media path>/LABEL.ASC," finished with return code 40. Output:
