2452209 - Phone Number appears with incorrect format (scientific decimal notation) in the profile

The phone number appears with incorrect format in the Public Profile of the employee. It may appear with scientific decimal notation, for example.

On the other hand, the phone number may appear correctly in the Contact Information portlet in Employee Central.

Most probable cause of issue is that incorrect data was imported through a user Basic Import for the affected employee(s).
When the CSV file is being handled with a spreadsheet program such as for example Microsoft Excel, if the format of the file is incorrectly converted, long numbers may end up being formated with mathematical notation.
This could cause display issues as for example with the telephone, when this change in the CSV file is later imported in the system.

Please consider that as a general rule, if the daily HRIS Sync is active, preferably no data should be imported for the employee profile through the Basic Import. Instead it is recommended to get the data updated from Employee Central with the synchronization job.

Please note that daily HRIS Sync job will not correct these employees unless a data change is triggered for their contact information. Here you can find two alternatives:

1. If only one or a few employees are affected, the quickest solution is to perform and save some small data change in the employee 'Contact Information' portlet, then revert it back again to previous value and save again. These save actions will trigger an HRIS Sync for this employee therefore the data would be properly corrected in the Employee Profile. This method would be the quickest and easiest to correct the data as can be fully done from customer end.
2. If several users are affected by such problem, then a Full HRIS Sync job could be requested to be scheduled and executed. This method would require the involvement of Support, therefore it would require some time to be scheduled. For further information about this, you can refer to following KBAs:
