2456318 - Tax Event Missing in Account Determination for Tax Events Activity

Symptom

You see that the Tax Event is missing in the activity Account Determination for Tax Events.

Environment

SAP Business ByDesign

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to the Business Configuration work center.
  2. Go to the Implementation Projects view.
  3. Select the project and click on open activity list.
  4. Open the activity Account Determination for Tax Events.

You do not see all the Tax Events applicable for the Country XYZ (XYZ represents the country name).

Cause

  1. Go to the Business Configuration work center.
  2. Go to the Implementation Projects view.
  3. Select the project and click on open activity list.
  4. Open the Tax on Goods and Services activity.
  5. Select the country and see the tax rate type assigned for this tax code and event combination.

If the Tax Rate Type is left blank then such a Tax Event will not be shown in the activity Account Determination for Tax Events.

Resolution

Wherever the Tax Rate Type is zero or left blank then that particular Tax Event is not required in the Account Determination for Tax Events.

When you assign such a Tax Rate Type to a Tax Event and a Tax Code, this calculates zero tax amount during the transactional postings resulting with no amount to carry to show in the journals for accounting.

So this setting is not needed in the activity.
