2457061 - Revoking Period Not Possible: Only One Open Interval Allowed

You want to open the Period PPP+3/YYYY (PPP+3 stands for the period and YYYY stands for the year) for Set Of Books ABC (ABC stands for the Set of Books) but get the error message: Revoking period PPP+3 not possible: Only one open interval allowed.

SAP Business ByDesign

1. Go to the General Ledger work center.
2. Go to the Open and Close Periods subview in Common Tasks view.
3. Enter the Company ID as XYZ (XYZ is the company ID) and the Set of Books as ABC and click Go.
4. Filter to Fiscal year YYYY and Accounting Period ID PPP+3.
5. Click Open Period.

You get the error message Revoking period PPP+3 not possible: Only one open interval allowed.

You are getting this error message as it is not allowed to open Periods which do not correspond to the same interval (an interval of three consecutive periods).

For example, Periods PPP/YYYY, PPP+1/YYYY and PPP+2/YYYY are three consecutive Periods which falls in one interval and are preceding Period PPP+3/YYYY.

If you have Period PPP/YYYY open and then the Periods PPP+1/YYYY and PPP+2/YYYY closed and you are trying to open Period PPP+3/YYYY, you will get this error message.

You need to open the Periods PPP+1/YYYY and PPP+2/YYYY which corresponds to the interval of the Periods PPP/YYYY, PPP+1/YYYY and PPP+2/YYYYand then open the Period PPP+3/YYYY.
