2457557 - Portal Runtime Exception on accessing Fiori Launchpad


  • While accessing the Fiori LaunchPad, you get portal runtime exception 
  • You see an error in default traces (/usr/sap/<SID>/<instance>/j2ee/cluster/serverx/log) similar to the below:
    "Oops, it seems that you have entered FLP on EP with device type which is not maintained in the device group manager, therefore FLP on EP switched to safe mode. In order to avoid such cases, please maintain your device in the device group manager
    com.sapportals.portal.prt.component.PortalComponentException: Error in service call of Portal Component

  • The error may happen only on Desktop devices, tablet devices (e.g: a ios or Android), mobile phone devices etc. or on all platforms
