2458652 - Error AD846 "Table <name> is too long (>4030)" or "Table <name> is too long (>4096)"

Symptom

Error AD846 occurs during the activation of a table/view or during a check in transaction SE11:

  1. Start transaction SE11
  2. Display the problematic object
  3. Use the check button in the toolbar

In transaction SE11 choose Utilities and then Activation Log to see something similar:

Sometimes Error AD846 occurs in dictionary activation phase (such as ACT_UPG, or ACT_TRANS) phase during system update or upgrade using SUM tool:
