Symptom
The Salary Positioning graph is not displayed correctly or not displaying any data when viewed in Compensation Information
Environment
Employee Central
Reproducing the Issue
- Navigate to My Employee Files > Compensation Information block/portlet
- View the Salary Positioning graph
- No graph is displayed OR NULL is displayed
Cause
This is can be caused by different configuration and data issues.
- Incorrect values in the Pay Range > Min, Mid and Max fields.
- Missing field configuration in Pay Component Group Foundation Object
- Missing Compa-Ratio and Range Penetration fields in Compensation Information
These configuration/data issues can lead to the graph not displaying any data or not displaying correct data
Resolution
1. Pay Range data configuration
Please refer to article 2136061 for a detailed explanation of Pay Range derivation
To resolve the issue where the graph displays no Salary Range, but the Compa-ratio and Range Penetration values are dislayed in the graph - correct the values set for Minimum Pay, Maximum Pay and Mid Point, so that -:
- Minimum Pay is less than or equal to Mid Point
- Maximum Pay is greater than or equal to Mid Point
2. Pay Component Group configuration
Make sure that the following 2 fields are configured for the "payComponentGroup" Foundation Object in the Corporate Data Model
<hris-element id="payComponentGroup">
.......
<hris-field id="useForComparatioCalc" visibility="both">
.......
<hris-field id="useForRangePenetration" visibility="both">
Then ensure that you have set both "Use for Comparatio Calculation" and "Use for Range Penetration" to "Yes" for the Pay Component Group that is available to the employee in the Compensation Information UI.
