2459207 - SAP IQ performance on Highly parallel chipset using Solaris

Symptom

IQ Performance went down dramatically when the configuration was switched from a system with Solrais T5-2 system with 32 CPUs to a system Solaris T5-4 system with 64 CPUs:

  • At first the configuration for the -iqnumberofcpus and -iqpartitions was left the same as the smaller system.
  • After the first couple of weeks - the parameters were changed to reflect the larger system
    • iqnumberofcpus was increased from 32 to 64
    • iqpartitions was increased to 32

As soon as load was added to the system - the performance went down with and many transaction being stuck in "PREPARETOCOMMIT"
