Symptom
Employee Time Imports are failing with no Log Details
Environment
- SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central
- SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central Time Off
- v12 / People Profile (PP3)
Reproducing the Issue
1. Download Employee Time template from Import and Export Data page and fill the template as follows:
2. Go to Admin Center > Import and Export Data and validate the file then go to Monitor Job page and see that the validation is successful. Import the file and then check status Monitor Job page. Status shows as 'Failed'
Cause
Employee Time import template is incorrectly filled out
NOTE: Product Support - See internal memo for log example
Resolution
For non-LOA absences userId, timeType, startDate, endDate and fractionQuantity are mandatory fields that should always be filled out. For LOA absences, mandatory columns are userId, startDate, timeType, fractionQuantity, loaExpectedReturnDate/actualReturnDate.
Other fields must be left blank as these are automatically filled with values by the system with respect to the time type setup. In some cases, external code column may be filled out provided that values will be unique for each record per user.
In 1805 release, validation message will be shown in the logs during validation step and imports when mandatory fields / columns in the import file are not filled.
