2461272 - SAP Web Dispatcher not able to connect backend system

Symptom

After setting parameter "wdisp/ping_protocol = https" in SAP Web Dispatcher profile, the SAP Web Dispatcher not able to communicate with backend system anymore and receive following error message at output of command "sapwebdisp pf=<path/WDP Profile> -checkconfig" or at "dev_webdisp" WDP trace file.

  • dev_webdisp logged error,

 ERROR => ERROR: no message server port configured (value of wdisp/system_X is incorrect)

  •  "sapwebdisp pf=<Path/WDP profile> -checkconfig" returns following error message:
