Symptom
This document describes a situation, where a vacation request cannot be deducted from the assigned time account.
Environment
SAP Business by Design
Reproducing the Issue
- Go to the Home work center
- Select the Self Services view
- Select the New Leave Request link
- Fill in From and To
- Select the Next Button to display the deducted days
Now, to verify whether the system has taken the request into account or not.
- Go to Time Administration work center
- Select Employee view
- Search for the relevant employee
- Select Edit
- Select the Time Account Balances
- Underneath the Time Account Balances tab, select the actual time account assigned to the employee
- Underneath the Details tab, select the Employee Times
- Check the Start Date, End Date and the applied Time Type with Deduction Day(s)
- Detect any inconsistency between the expected and actual number of days
Cause
The root cause of this issue is the fact that the assigned time account has a balance with less days than requested by the employee. Hence the missing days cannot be deducted.
It may occur that the system allows the deduction from another assigned time account instead of the actual assigned time account.
Employee times can be deducted from one or more time accounts, and if required, they can be deducted from multiple time account types in a specific sequence.
Resolution
- Go to Time Administration work center
- Select Employee view
- Search for the relevant employee
- Select Edit
- Select the Time Account Balances
- Underneath the Time Account Balances, select the initial assigned time account and select the Adjustments tab
- Add row with quantity equal to the number of days needed to compensate the failure, with Posting Type as Manual Posting
