2461828 - User gets "You do not have the appropriate permissions to access the Learning module" or being logged out when trying to access Learning

Symptom

  • User exists in both BizX and Learning with Learning permission, but cannot access Learning Administration through single sign-on.
  • Validation error is showing up while clicking Learning from BizX home page or gets logged out.

Environment

  • SAP SuccessFactors HCM Suite
  • SAP SuccessFactors Learning

Cause

Created user manually in Learning which caused user ID configuration/case mismatch in the two systems.

Resolution

  1. Go to employee export and download the export >
  2. Check for the record of the user >
  3. There would be two columns. One for the user ID and the other for the username >
  4. The user ID mentioned in the export will be the user ID which flows in Learning >
  5. If the user is created in Learning, it should be of the same case and character as in the user ID from the employee export on the BizX side >
  6. There are two options available to resolve:
    1. Create a user in Learning with the case matching the one in BizX > Check to confirm the user ID from the employee export in the BizX side) >
    2. If you cannot create the same ID in Learning as is in the employee export, then you need to create a new user in BizX and make sure the user ID in BizX be created as per the required ID.

Note:

  • Username and user ID are separate in BizX. Username shows on the UI while the user ID flows to Learning for the creation of user.
  • There could be other causes of the validation error one of them being genuine permission issue then you need to contact your internal team to give the right permission.
