Environment

Reproducing the Issue

1. Go to Admin Center > Manage Mentoring Program.

2. Create a Supervised Program. Populate the required Mentor Sign-up Start, Mentee Sign-up Start, Matching Start, Mentoring Program Start and Mentoring Program End

3. Assign Mentors and Mentees

4. Once the whole process of Creating Mentoring Program is complete, the Admin then ready to send e-mail to invited persons

5. Mentor / Mentee then received the e-mail but the links is not working.

Cause

There are several reasons why recipients not able to access the link received on the e-mail.

1. Check if the sign up date for Mentee and/or Mentor has already passed. If this is the case then they can no longer access the link since the date has passed.

2. If the Mentor is the one not able to access the link, the Admin may have clicked on "Send Email to Mentees Now" button before the Mentor signed up

3. If both Mentor and Mentee cannot access the link, it could be the Admin may have clicked “Start Program." which means admin send things out way before the sign up dates. If they have done that, no matter what the key dates are supposed to be, the invitations will not work.

Note: if they clicked on “Start Program." when not everyone has signed up yet, the ones who are not signed up yet will be kicked out of the program, as if they “opted out.” hence, e-mail link will no longer work.

Resolution

  • Make sure that before sending e-mail invite to Mentees, all intented Mentors have already signed up otherwise those who Mentors who have not signed up will be kicked out (considered opted out)
  • Before Starting the program, make sure that Mentors and Mentees have signed up, otherwise those persons invited who have not signed up will be kicked out (considered opted out)

Note on e-mail links: when a Mentor or Metee receives an e-mail notification for 'Mentoring Match Approval Request', both links in the e-mail will lead to the Mentor program and not the Mentoring Home page.
